What Does an OHT Do?
As an OHT, I specialise in oral health care, focusing on preventative, therapeutic, and restorative dental treatments for children and adults. In my role at a private dental practice in Melbourne’s inner suburbs, I help patients with:
• Teeth whitening and aesthetic care: Transforming smiles and boosting confidence.
• Gum care and dental hygiene: Providing deep cleans and periodontal maintenance.
• Preventative treatments: Applying fluoride, sealants, and giving oral health advice.

Balancing Work, Business, and Family
Being a working mum is all about finding balance, though I’ll admit it’s not always easy. My weekdays are full-on—starting early to get the kids ready for school, then heading to the practice for a full day of patient care. Once I finish at the clinic, I often switch gears into business mode, working on Stunning Smiles appointments or admin in the evenings.
Luckily, I love what I do. Whether I’m helping a patient at the practice or giving someone a confidence boost with teeth whitening, it’s incredibly rewarding. The flexibility of running a side hustle allows me to book mobile whitening sessions on weekends or handle orders for DIY kits at night—fitting around soccer practice, homework, and family dinners.
